A WORD FOR TODAY

In my devotions this morning and thinking about us not being together today, I felt like I still needed to pass along a word to all of you. The words found in Romans
12: 4-12 seem to be words that apply to us at this time.

"For as we have many members in one body, and all member have not the same office; So we, being may, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhoteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cherrfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer."

I've read these words many times and have preached on them in the past, but today, they seem to leap off the page and fit us as a congregation as we walk together down this new path in the life of Hinkle Creek Friends. It's so important that we particularly take that last verse to heart "Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer!"

There is a rainbow of promises out there for Hinkle Creek Friends and I for one will be watching for that everyday!!!!!

I love and miss all of you today and am looking forward to us being together again next Sunday!
