Reasons I am thankful...

It is easy to look at others and think they have it better than me. They look like they have everything they need to be happy. Bible Study last night was a good reminder of not assuming that others are rich or poor, saved or not saved. That I need to focus on myself and keep my daily walk with God in check. To be thankful for what I have. And things rushed through my mind.

I am so thankful for:
*My healthy son and stepchildren.
*My husband doesn't like to leave the house without a kiss goodbye.
*My friend Melly worries if I have a diet coke to drink everytime she see me.
*I have a mother that calls me everytime she sees an accident to make sure it wasn't me even if I am in a different city that day.
*My pastor and his wife taught me a new card game and love to just set and talk about life.
*My friends Casie and Will let me love their kids and share the joy of them in my life.
*I have a home to rest in.
*I have food to choose from in my pantry.
*I feel the love of God in my life and see the benefit of why its important to stay close to him.
*That my friends tell me that they love me.
*I have a church to go to each Sunday.
*I have the ability to choose to walk or run.
*That the journey that I have walked in my past has led me to the road I am taking now.
*That I am reminded daily how blessed I am.

We should be thankful that so many of our "normal things" are luxuries to many others in the world. Simple "normal things" like food and heat are not "normal" to many. We should give thanks for these as part of God's richest blessings!

This song came to mind last night as we spoke in Bible Study.

Blessed:

I may never climb a mountain,
So I could see the word from there.
I may never ride the waves,
And taste the salty ocean air.
Or build a bridge,
That would last a hundred years.
But no matter where the road leads,

One thing is always clear....
(chorus)

I am blessed,
I am blessed,
From when I rise up in the morning,
'Till I lay my head to rest,
And I feel you near me,
You sooth me when I'm weary.
Oh, Lord,
For all the worst and all the best,
I am blessed.

All along the road less traveled,
I have crawled and I have run.
I have wandered through the winds and rains,
Until I found the sun.
But watching eyes,
Asked me why,
I walk this narrow way,
There may never be a reason,
For the hope I have today....

(chorus)
You've given me joy,
You've given me love,
You give me stength,
When I want to give up.
You came from heaven,
To rescue my soul.
You are the reason,
I know,
I know.

This was a wonderful post! I think that everyone is blessed in their own special way. Some may see others and want to be blessed the way they are, but you are your own person. Just keep going your own way.
