The Christian Gospel

As I review my day today and get ready for bed I think upon the morning bible study given by Will Bussell and the beautiful message and fellowship I had today. The meaning for me was loud and clear. The real Christian experiences encompasses the total human personality and the total human family. Its an experience evidenced by joy, peace, and love grounded in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He lives not just as memory among those who follow his teachings, but he himself lives. The very one who walked on this earth as a prophet, teacher, a miracle-worker and was raised from the dead after his cruel Crucifixion. Receiving the presence of Christ is receiving Christ himself-the selfsame one who lived, died and rose again. But now his presence is invisible to our natural eyes because these eyes can only see what is finite. Christ is now infinite, unlimited, eternal, and cosmic. Such reality cannot be contained, controlled, or confused. But such reality can be received.

1 Peter 1:8-9
Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now , you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Good post Heather. I too felt uplifted yesterday and so felt the love of Christ among all who was there yesterday. Not only is He in our individual hearts, but when we are together, He is in our presence through all the people who believe and have Him in their lives. I think that's why it is so awesome that we feel what we feel when we are gathered together in His Name! Although we all have different backgrounds and maybe even a little different beliefs, we are one when we come together to worship.
