Bob's message today really spoke to me and I think it's a great foundation for the future of our church. It has stayed with me the whole day and has shown up in the scripture I've been studying as well. It's always funny how that happens. Here is the scripture I'm referring to:
1 We who are strong ought to put up with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Each of us must please our neighbor. 3 For Christ did not please himself; but, as it is written, "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me." 4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope. 5 May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus, 6 so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:1-6 (NRSV)
In our church, many people on many different paths have come to a place where those paths have suddenly converged - and if we have the light of Christ guiding our way and his unending love guiding our hearts "neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39) Like Paul said, we have the unique chance of being able to harmonize our voices in Christ's name not so they become a choir of many voices striving for many different things, but so they become one voice striving for One Greater Purpose: to glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
With love and thanks,
Will

I don't know how anyone could disagree.
Thanks, Will!
No problem Ty, I'm glad we are on the same page and I just hope that we can all continue to listen to God and let Him lead the way for us in all that we do.
