Last night I could really feel the presence of the Lord surrounding us while we sat with our heads lowered and our eyes closed in prayer. A Bible study is a great way to better understand the Word and I think it's beneficial to us all, but this Bible study group has really turned into more than that. Every time we meet I feel such a sense of family - we become unified under the watchful eyes of God and I think that each week we become closer to one another in our love for Christ. When we sit down to start our meeting, one can only guess which path our conversation will go down...but I know this is the way the Lord wants it. It is so amazing that we can start from one passage and be led into such a wide variety of subjects and issues, but it is not surprising that we are lead in such a way, for we are told in Proverbs 16:9 that "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." It's so interesting that this verse is such a fitting description of our Bible study sessions because I came across it this week and was really drawn to it for a reason unknown to me at that time. But upon reflection, it is obvious that the Lord was working through his Word, telling me that his work is truly being done through our minds and our hearts as we dive deeper into his message. I recognize this new beginning in great fellowship as an extension of our church's own rejuvenation and mark it as yet another sign that we, as a church and family submitting to the will of the Lord, are truly striving to walk His path. Thank you all so much for being my new family and helping me to better understand where I am on my path.
God is love,
Will
