From Beth Waterman's Blog

Sunday mornings…
the sweet gift of Sabbath…
taken for granted all too often, forgotten, worked through…
we all need a moment to drop the workload, relocate the center…no one can keep a steady constant pace forever…that’s flat lining…that means we’re dead…
no, we were made for deep breaths…and enjoying moments, retreating to find clarity of mind…
this morning, i found a lightened burden in the replanting of coke bottle asparagus…scrubbing of kitchen counters, and baking these Nutella & Sea Salt Stuffed Sugar Cookies

i’m not normally too good of a baker…i tend to burn things…i don’t like recipes that pigeonhole me into precision…i prefer creative license…but that doesn’t fly when you need baking powder to work properly…or you hope for your cookies to taste like anything other than a butterball…

baking this morning, reminded me, that sometimes a little structure is good, sometimes, 6 days on, 1 day off…prescribed and suggested, is a needed part of the recipe in order to keep things right, in order to keep us right…certainly there’s room for creative license…but perhaps a week without rest, is like a sugar cookie with no baking powder…limp and flat and not great…
