Clarence Barker
It is almost noon on Saturday and I just finished the Church Bulletins for tomorrow and mentioned Clarence Barker and asking for prayer as he had been moved to Maple Park Nursing Facility suffering with liver cancer. As soon as I got home, I received a call from Leota telling me that Clarence passed away just before noon today. I felt an urge to go see him and talk to him about accepting Christ and being sure he was ready to go when the time came. We had a good season of prayer and held my hand and asked Jesus into his heart and said he wanted it all! What a glorious prayer meeting we had. An hour after I went, he was transferred to the Nursing Home. I know it was the Lord prompting me to go as He doesn't want to lose any of His children. He death came quicker than they thought, but I believe the Lord wanted him while he was ready. Let's all pray for Leota and the children during this loss to them. I don't know the full details, but they are working toward a calling on Thursday evening and the funeral on Friday morning at Randall & Roberts on St. Rd. 32. I'll post more when I know the details.

Obituary for Joan Randall
Edith Joan Randall
(January 14, 1928 - June 25, 2012)
Edith Joan Randall, 84 years old, died on Monday, June 25, 2012 in Riverview Hospital. She had been a Noblesville resident for the past six years.
The daughter of Virgil and Goldie (McClintock) Anderson, she was born January 14, 1928. On October 3, 1947, she married Morris A Randall in Noblesville, IN.
A graduate of Noblesville High School, she worked briefly at Firestone Industrial Products and later in the Hamilton County Treasurers Office for 20 years. She was a member of the Esther Kay Home Ec Club for numerous years.
During the 54 years she and Morris lived on the family farm, they raised five children and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. They raised St. Bernards for a number of years which led to many life-long friendships. Another interest they shared was rag-time music. They made annual trips to the Rag-time Piano Competition in Illinois, another interest which lead to many more life-long relationships.
She was an excellent seamstress and made many clothes for herself and her family. She enjoyed sewing for the home as well.
She was a member of Gray Friends Church where she was very involved in church activities and played the piano for many years.
For all of these many interests, nothing meant more to her than family: family gatherings for birthdays, holidays and trips. Everyone looked forward to these gatherings as she made them so much fun with good food and laughter. These good times also included extended family and friends. She’d go out of her way to make everyone feel welcome.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Randall, a daughter, Nancy Jeffries and a son David Randall, and a sister, Jenoise Thatcher.
She is survived by daughters, Lynn (Joe) Tharp, Lebanon; Dana (Gordon) Clemens, Warsaw; Lisa Clark, Mantua, Ohio.
Grandchildren include: Jeffrey Tharp, Wayne Tharp and Brian Tharp, all of Lebanon. Kimberly Placek, Indianapolis and Shannon (Barry) Dimmock, Greenwood; Kady Randall, Indianapolis; Chelsea Clemens, Noblesville, Colin Clemens, Justin Clemens, Erin Clemens all of Warsaw; Savannah Clark, Mantua, Ohio.
Great-grandchildren include: Austin Tharp, Justin Tharp, Aaron and Taylor Casey, Kate and Lauren Dimmock; and Sophia Krentze.
Donations may be made to the National Stroke Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Services will be held at Randall and Roberts funeral home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville on Thursday, June 28, 2012. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

Amazon.com: Estelle Book Reviews
Compelling Story of the Power of Prayer and Love
540 pages. You really get your money's worth of thought-provoking applications as you read ESTELLE. James W. Tharp tells this riveting story about his mother Estelle, writing it as historical fiction based on actual events and real people. Knowing it is fact-based lends extra excitement to the telling of these remarkable real-life occurrences. The story begins with the spiritual hunger Estelle feels as a young woman, and her pursuit until she finds fulfillment in Jesus Christ; but she is deeply concerned for the decadent and wicked environment she lives in. As she delves into God's Word and prayer, her growing confidence and faith strengthen her to fearlessly confront evil with amazing results. Estelle's experiences are inspiring and instructional for readers longing to know if God still works miracles.
ESTELLE is also a love story--of both earthly love and Heavenly Love. Jim and Estelle's marriage is a great model of a loving relationship, and inspires you to follow their example of patient, persistent love in the midst of life's inevitable challenges. ESTELLE is a wonderful combination of story, inspiration, and practical teaching. As you read, you get compelling lessons in love, victorious faith, prayer, and spiritual warfare. Be prepared to emerge from this book with renewed faith and strengthened prayers. I've read ESTELLE several times and have been deeply affected each time. This book is also available in Kindle format.

A captivating story of love and plain talk'in faith
From the moment you meet her, you will love Estelle. Married to Jim, a gun tot'in, sharp shoot'in Deputy Sheriff, her wedding night is hilarious. " . . . I'm ready to find out if this thing's all it's cracked up to be," she tells her husband, "So come on and show me what it's all about!" Jim has the amazing skill of being able to shoot through the ear lobe of a man by way of warning, then killing him if he has to. After killing four fugitives Jim feels he has broken the commandment "Thou Shalt Not Kill." With her direct, down to earth faith, Estelle explains killing in self defense does not break the commandment which means with intent to kill, as in murder. James Tharp has given us not only the inspiration of the revival of the Holiness movement, but a delightful insight into life in rural Arkansas. The food is amazing. Celebrations have four kinds of meat, stewed potatoes and numerous pies, including the Jeff Davis (pecan pie without the pecans). The spirituality is direct and comprehensive. I found myself going back to portions of the preaching and using them for moments of meditation. Read to enjoy. Read to be strengthened in the faith.

Newsletter
Chairman of Committees, please feel free to contribute to the newsletter any information about the work your committee is doing to share in the newsletter. A story, or just a report of how things are going would be an encouragment to all! Especially if you are working on a project that might be something the larger church body can contribute in.

Monthly Meeting
Hello !
I just wanted to make mention that our next Monthly Meeting will be Sunday, July 8. Chairman, please make time to meet with your committees before then. Our last two meetings were really close together so we had a bit of a break there. Because it's June and we are halfway through our year please consider reviewing your coordinating committee goals you set in March. Our 176th Homecoming is in October and each committee may want to discuss how they might contribute to that special day as well. Thank you!
Watching God work,
Kelly

Please Pray
I just returned from Riverview Hospital and learned that Joan Randall was admitted after suffering a heart attack and a massive stroke. She is in hospice and not looking good for her. The family asked me to have all of you to pray for her and for them. May God have His Hand upon her as she goes through this transition. She was such a sweet lady and loved coming to Hinkle to Worship with us.

How You Can Walk in the Spirit
http://www.keystochristiangrowth.com/4.walk_in_spirit/
If you have asked God in faith to fill you with His Holy Spirit, you can be confident that He has filled you according to His promise. Now you are able to live everyday walking in the fullness of the Spirit He has given you. The Bible compares people to trees; the way to know a good tree is by its fruit, or by the actions of the person: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22). God wants every Christian to produce good fruit and has given you the Holy Spirit so that you can live a life like Jesus Christ, one of love and of power.

God wants every Christian to produce good fruit and has given you the Holy Spirit so that you can live a life like Jesus Christ, one of love and of power.
As a Christian, you must make a continual choice between walking according to the desires of your old self and walking according to the desires of the Holy Spirit. We are told in Galatians 5:16, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” You can learn to walk in the Holy Spirit as you read and obey God’s Word, give thanks to Him in all things, and continually confess yours sins to God and ask for forgiveness. If you want to live your life walking in the Spirit, tell God now that you want Him to teach you. Because it is what He wants for you, you can know that He will do it.
Key verses
Key verses
“For if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25).
“For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life” (Galatians 6:8).
“For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God” (Romans 8:13,14).
Walking in the Spirit
http://www.abideinchrist.com/selah/jul20.html
“We are not justified by the manner of our walk, but by our being in Christ Jesus,” observed Spurgeon.
The most important question to ask ourselves is, “Am I in Christ?” If the answer is yes, then “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).
The individual who is “in Christ Jesus” does not walk after the flesh, but after and in step with the Holy Spirit. He walks according to the guidance of the Spirit. To be “filled with the Spirit” is to be under the control of the Spirit. Every believer has the Holy Spirit. Our responsibility is to be yielded to Him. He has the spirit of life in Christ Jesus. The result of our justification through faith in Christ is a new creation, no longer under the control of the flesh, but in the spirit, a spiritual person.
No, God does not eradicate the flesh. It is still there striving and warring against the spirit, and it will be there until the Christian is taken up into heaven to be with God.
That apostle Paul tells us the person who is “in Christ Jesus” commits himself to the guidance and control of the Holy Spirit. He gives us guidance, encouragement, correction, and leads us in the paths of righteousness so that we become more like Christ.
Another important question for the believer is, Am I walking according to the flesh? Or, Am I walking in the Spirit? Our response determines what we produce in our daily lives.
The apostle Paul said, “Do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:4).
How do you know the difference? “For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit” (v. 5).
Is my life conduct under the control of the Spirit? If so, I will produce the fruit of the Spirit in my life (Galatians 5:22-23). It will be the opposite of the works of the flesh (vv. 19-21).
How is your walk? Your walk is determined by your thinking. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Set your mind on the things of the flesh, let it be dominated by fleshly thoughts, and you will produce the works of the flesh. Let your mind be under the control of the Holy Spirit and you will produce the fruit of the Spirit.
Kenneth Wuest translates Romans 8:5, “For those who are habitually dominated by the sinful nature put their minds on the things of the sinful nature, but those who are habitually dominated by the Spirit put their minds on the things of the Spirit.”
Does the Holy Spirit or the flesh habitually dominate your mind? You will know by what your life is producing. Set your mind on the flesh and you will produce flesh. Let it be under the power and control of the Holy Spirit and you become like Jesus Christ in your behavior.
The only way to not walk in the flesh is to change masters of the mind. “Be transformed by the renewing of the mind” (Romans 12:2). Edgar Goodspeed translated Romans 8:5b, “People who are controlled by the spiritual think of what is spiritual.” When we set our minds on the Spirit we produce spiritual things that are pleasing to God. Kenneth Taylor paraphrased this verse, “Those who follow after the Holy Spirit find themselves doing those things that please God.”
The Amplified Bible reads, “For those who are according to the flesh and controlled by its unholy desires, set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh. But those who are according to the Spirit and [controlled by the desires] of the Spirit, set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the (Holy) Spirit.”
Where do you choose to let your thoughts dwell? You are what you think. Will you not now choose to bow your mind to the control of Spirit of God? Let Him control your thinking. Let the desire of your heart be to depend not upon yourself, but on Christ alone. That is the work of the Holy Spirit within you. We have everything we need to live the Christian life in Him and what He chooses to provide. Our inner resource is God Himself—the Hoy Spirit. Let Him control your mind, your heart, and your actions will pleasing to God.

Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who drove the kids to camp on Sunday! They were all so excited! We are all so blessed to have Quaker Haven for them to visit and feel a part of. They all need that so much and the things they see and do there will have lasting impacts on all of their lives. They are learning to make God a priority and to trust and to look for him for and in all things! And I just love hearing about camp when they get back. May God richly bless them as they share in his many blessings and his deep and awesome love for all of them!

What a Great Concert!
I have to admit that I didn't know much about Rachel West Kramer before last evening, but if you missed the concert, you really missed something! I found her and her husband to be the most humble sweetest people who are so dedicated to serving the Lord through this gift He has given her. Her voice nearly lifted the roof off of Hinkle last evening. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! When she sang "How Great Thou Art", I couldn't stay in my seat any longer - I just had to rise to my feet as I could feel the presence of God filling Hinkle! If I had closed my eyes, I would've thought Sandy Patti was in the place singing - very comparable! It was also good to see Vonnie Wright there for the ladies prayer meeting and all of our Friends from Anderson Friends join us. What an incredible evening and I pray that we can have her again. I'm sure that we will have even more people coming to hear her after the word gets out about this incredible lady. I just walked away so blessed along with everyone who attended. I greeted people at the door afterwards, and you could just see the glow and love in each one's face after hearing this beautiful concert. Just wanted to post my feelings this morning. I had no idea what we were in for - just a great prelude to the upcoming Spiritual Renewal!

This is a Test
I wanted to perform a test with our blog. I realize that many of you do not know how to respond through the blog, so I am just curious how many of you actually look at our blog. It doesn't matter whether you are part of Hinkle or not. I'd just like to know if we are reaching people through this media. If you look at this often, please send me an email at bstubbs50@frontier.com and just say something like "I read it" or you may comment in anyway you like. I would appreciate your response to give us an idea of how affective this is. Thanks!

Clydesdale for an orchestral-based inspirational project. “For over 15 years, I’ve enjoyed singing many of David’s arrangements originally performed by Sandy Patti including, ‘How Great Thou Art’, ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ and ‘O Holy Night’, and at the majority of our ministry events, these songs are some of the most moving,” said Kramer. “We’re absolutely humbled to have the opportunity to work with David and to produce inspiring, God-Honoring music together,” Kramer added.David T. Clydesdale

And the Bible says:
Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."I USED to think….And when I say used to, I mean like, last week. I used to think that in order to be a REAL Christian I needed to be a Bible Scholar. I couldn’t claim Christianity as my faith publically because what if someone asked me a hard theological question? So, I thought, oh I’ll wait till I know more. I’ll wait till I learn more about the Bible until I claim Christ, Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Then I’ll really show them. I’ll WOW them with my amazing knowledge of the Bible, the people, the stories, the meaning, the history. Problem is, my memory isn’t so good and I’m already so busy and I really don’t know enough about most of it to even begin to claim I know what’s happening in some of these stories. I would need to go to college full time. God hasn’t called me to do that. Or, I would do that.
But I have come to understand that I have a helper in my quest to claim my faith. The Holy Spirit.
And the Bible says:
John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.The Holy Spirit will help me and remind me? Well Praise Jesus! And I can come to him as a child? I don’t need to come to him as a theologian? Halelujah! Amen!
Now, that is Good News! I say these things to you now because I want to tell you something. Do not wait. Do not wait till you know more, receive a sign, lose weight, have the time or feel bored. Claim your faith now. Do it even if your faith is small.
And the Bible says:
Luke 17:6
He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you. That’s a powerful verse! Claim it! Use it! Take what little faith you have in your heart, even if it’s just a desire to believe. And take that leap! What are you waiting for?
Come to me as children, I will send you a helper even if your faith is small. Do not hesitate, God will bless you. He loves you and is waiting for you.

When I grow up....
It has always been hard for me to say what I want to be when I grow up. When I was young I wanted to be Harriet Tubman. And a mom. Seriously. Then I just wanted to help people. I majored in education, nursing, and social work before getting my degree in Sociology. It doesn't help that I found ADD medication later in life:) I am finally realizing it wasn't lack of motivation or drive...it wasn't even my uncanny ability to get off track at the first shiney object that passes by....it is the fact that I measure success differently and always have. The people I admire, look up to, want to be like...aren't necessarily successful in a monetary way or even have careers that others hold in esteem. They are women who love Jesus and the love they have for him oozes out onto all of those around them. Why haven't I ever heard a young child say that when asked what they want to be when they grow up?!? Maybe it's just too wordy:) I have always just wanted to be at peace and love like Jesus. Is that too simple?! For many of us it is. But it works for me. Yesterday at our neighborhood pool I ran into my friend from church. She lives in the neighborhood too and she is what I want to be when I grow up. Not her exactly, like her only me. She loves like Jesus. I have watched this friend serve her family, her church family and her community. I have watched her selflessly give to others for years. I have watched her do it with joy and humility. The past year I watched her battle cancer. Face it head on with unwavering faith and grace. I watched her as she was an example for others of being in Christ in the good and the bad. I watched her fight cancer and win. She is truly one of the most beautiful women I know. Yesterday at our pool, she was with a woman and four small children. Looking at them from afar you might have thought it was her daughter and grandkids or a long lost friend. She doesn't have daughters so I wondered who this might be. She came over to visit with us. The young family with her was a lady and her children that she has invested in from our food panty that she plays a huge role in....even through the cancer.... They don't get the opportunity to swim from the trailer park neighborhood in the most affluent county in the state of Indiana so she brought them with her. Of course, she did, because she is Jesus with skin on. She bought them snacks from the concessions stand and she held onto the children as she taught them how to swim in the pool and she laughed and visited with their momma as she enjoyed watching her children swim and play. She brought her friend to the pool yesterday. Not because they have so much in common or grew up together. She brought her friend to the pool because she loves freely. She loves all. She invests in the lives of others and doesn't judge them for how or why they got to this place in their life but she loves them where they are at and she loves like Jesus. Huge and big and freely. My friend loves like Jesus. I want to be like her when I grow up. Next year I turn 40, I better figure it out quick. There are real heros around. Real everyday role models for our children to look up too. They don't always earn 6 figures or play sports or even hold a job at all. They may not make a dime. They are real everyday flawed people who try like heck to love others. Who love others when they are tired and it's not easy. They love others when they have a day to themselves and could be anywhere they want to be. They love in the good and the bad. They love like Jesus. And when we talk with our children about what they want to be when they grow up, you can bet your sweet seat that Mrs. Kim's name will come up.

Prayer request
Please pray for the town of Lapel. The police are searching for a man that is on the run after committing a terrible crime there. We used to live in that town and I know everyone there is still in shock and scared . Thank you..
My Testimony for the Day
"Why should I feel discouraged? Why should the shadows come? Why should my heart be lonely, and long of heav'n and home, when Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He. His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me."

THIS WEEK'S BIBLE STUDY
Due to a number of people gone, we decided to cancel Bible Study this week. If you know someone without a computer that usually comes, please give them a call to let them know. Hopefully we will all be back together next week.

From the IYM Communicator
Good Morning!
I was blessed earlier this week to eat lunch with the IYM interns who will be working with Aaron Hughs to support our summer camping season. I’m sure that Ty, Seth, Cierra, Brock and Kayla will do a great job. These outstanding young adults are all veterans of the Quaker Haven camping program and will be working hard to enable yet another generation of campers to experience God personally during a week at summer camp.
I can’t go to Quaker Haven without thinking of folks like Delbert Brown and Edith Odom who served my generation there as camp directors and counselors for years. I can’t go to Quaker Haven without recalling moving experiences I have had there, first as a camper, then as a counselor, and as a camp director for Western Yearly Meeting. Many of you reading these words are reminded of the sense of peace that you still feel as you drive past the stone pillars at the camp entrance. Many of you recall friendships made at camp that sustained you during your youth and blessed you even years later. Many, many recall making a commitment, maybe your first, to Jesus Christ at Quaker Haven Camp.
God has impressed me to pray for Friends in IYM to be receptive to a fresh outpouring of God’s Spirit among us and has particularly challenged me to pray for this spiritual movement to define the future of the next generation of Friends. As our summer camps begin, would you join in praying for God to begin a transforming work among us in the lives of our children and youth?

From Beth Waterman's Blog
http://bethwaterman.wordpress.com/
Sunday mornings…
the sweet gift of Sabbath…
taken for granted all too often, forgotten, worked through…
we all need a moment to drop the workload, relocate the center…no one can keep a steady constant pace forever…that’s flat lining…that means we’re dead…
no, we were made for deep breaths…and enjoying moments, retreating to find clarity of mind…
this morning, i found a lightened burden in the replanting of coke bottle asparagus…scrubbing of kitchen counters, and baking these Nutella & Sea Salt Stuffed Sugar Cookies…
i’m not normally too good of a baker…i tend to burn things…i don’t like recipes that pigeonhole me into precision…i prefer creative license…but that doesn’t fly when you need baking powder to work properly…or you hope for your cookies to taste like anything other than a butterball…
baking this morning, reminded me, that sometimes a little structure is good, sometimes, 6 days on, 1 day off…prescribed and suggested, is a needed part of the recipe in order to keep things right, in order to keep us right…certainly there’s room for creative license…but perhaps a week without rest, is like a sugar cookie with no baking powder…limp and flat and not great…
