Good morning Friends. I had a nice day yesterday (and what beautiful weather) to spend time with the Lord in Prayer. Obviously I prayed about the Western Yearly Meeting Service on Friday morning, but I also prayed for all of you! As I was meditating, I was thinking about how many people were missing on Sunday and have been the past few Sundays. I realize it's summer and people have plans, but I was just wondering if any of you have been concerned about that too? Was someone missing that normally sits close to you? Did you think to give them a call or a friendly email or card and see if they were ok? As I contemplated that, I began to count those who were missing and do you realize that if everyone would show up on one Sunday, we would have close to 90 people in attendance? I'd just love to see our Church filled with everyone excited to be there. So, I put out this challenge and ask if you could make a special effort to attend this Sunday and call someone who wasn't there and pass the word! You know, if we could get 100 attending one Sunday, I might just think up some thing I'd do if you met that challenge. Should I let my hair grow, dye it red, dress up in bib overalls at the pulpit, climb up on the rooftop and preach from there? LOL! I'll meet the challenge if you will!
In all sincerety, it is important that we put God first as we start out our week. Sort of like tithing the 10% of our income - why not give God 10% of our time and come together and worship HIM! Before I die, I'd love to see our pews filled with people anxious to hear the Word of God!
I pray for all of you each week and I especially love it when I have that down time when I can do that in a special way. This week's time was special and I felt so much love toward you all and appreciate everything that you do to make Hinkle Creek Friends the success and outreach that it is today. I don't know when I've seen such harmony in a group of people and a group who loves one another like all of you do. You bless me SO MUCH! Thank you!

On the Rooftop, in overalls with long hair.
There were only two empty pews on Sunday. So, you may be doing your rooftop sermon soon.
But, I don't think you really need to do any of those things. Maybe we could print up some invitations for everyone to pass out to their friends and family for a specific Sunday. A Revival! Should we get a tent? :)We all love you too! You are doing a great job!
Bob, can you put something in the bulletin this week, or just mention on Sunday that if people give me their e-mail address I can invite them to the blog? I haven't had anyone new sign up lately and we may need to just remind folks! Thank You!
