Sunday go ta Meetin'!

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to write about everything that went on at church yesterday because it was a day full of promise at Hinkle Creek Friends!
First of all what a glorious day it was! The weather was beautiful and all hearts were uplifted by the sunshine and gentle wind. The sermon Pastor Stubbs brought us was about Nehemiah (cup bearer to the king) A faithful servant of God who was dedicated to prayer. Pastor Stubbs talked about how short quick prayers (microwave prayers) are one thing, but there is a deeper form of prayer that we may enter into if we practice our faith and sacrifice the time to devote to it, like Nehemiah.
It was the first morning of the time change so everyone was a little tired, but we sang together and I can only speak for myself when I say that my heart was consoled and my spirit quieted as we all prayed together.
The Monthly Meeting following our worship time was very well attended! I was happy to see so many attend one of our monthly business meetings. We had a lot to discuss and it went very smoothly. And we could smell lunch cooking downstairs so we were motivated to keep moving forward! It was a good meeting and we had the side doors opened so we could also enjoy the beautiful weather.
The lunch and fellowship after the meeting was absolutly wonderful! We were all so hungry and it was one of the best lunches I've had in a while. So many delicious dishes were available it was hard to choose. Thank you to everyone who brought a dish and thank you to Sharon and the dining room committee for putting on such a nice lunch for everyone.
Our Coordinating Committee Meeting followed lunch and was a wonderful time of sharing our committees goals and ideas for this upcoming year at Hinkle Creek Friends. It was an awesome opportunity for all of us to share our love of God and what he's doing here at Hinkle. I think we were all reminded how blessed we are and how much we have to look forward to.
We were all at church for what seemed like a long time on Sunday but I believe we were all blessed by taking some extra time out of our lives to focus on what we feel is happening in our Church body, what God is leading us toward. I became aware of how many of us are in one accord when it comes to our love of  God,our hopes for Hinkle and our love for one another. I can say now that I know that there are many people praying for a deeper relationship with Jesus, a spiritual awakening at our church and a chance to make a change in the world around us by keeping in God's will.
Praise God and let the glory be His!
with love,
Kelly
