Apologetix

Conner and I went to see the Christian rock band Apologetix Friday night at First Friends in Anderson. We had a great time and everyone was so nice! This is their website:

And below you will find a quote from their lead singer and lyricist J. Jackson.

What do you want people to get out of your music?
I want to make them realize that there's more to the Bible than Adam, Noah, David & Goliath and Jonah. I want them to realize that there's nothing inherently bad about music or anything else that God created. I want them to realize that the Bible is an interesting book, and I want to inspire them to read it for themselves. I want them to discover how simple salvation is, according to the Bible. I want them to remember verses and stories from the Bible. And I want them to learn what I've learned, to feel what I've felt - to laugh, to cry and to get chills sometimes. But most of all, I want them to see that God is real, and that He cares enough to speak to them in their own language, whether that be English or rock and roll. And I want them to give Him a chance, because He's offering them a chance, and they need to take it.

It was really funny to see the Quaker Church sanctuary transformed into a stage with lighting and a fog machine. And it was really loud! We really got our moneys worth and were thoroughly entertained. If you ever have the chance to see these guys you should definitely go. And the message came through the music, they sang about Paul, Obadiah, Samson and Delilah.Conner bought a cd and the whole band signed it for him. We had a great night and everyone at First Friends are so nice and several will be coming to Hinkle Creek for the Homecoming. Since they are our sister church it is nice to occasionally get together and share in each others activities. Jack Holiday is the pastor of of First Friends and he is a very nice man. I would like to go there some Sunday for worship too. It's not really very far and I'm sure we can all learn new things from one another and it is always nice to make new friends.
