Jeanette Douglas
I realize that many of you do not know Jeanette Douglas, but she passed away today at the age of either 98 or 99 (not sure which). She was the mother of Marilyn Cox from Westfield Friends Church. Jeanette attended Hinkle many years ago and was the choir director when Hinkle had a Choir. Her and her husband owned and operated "Douglas Campground" on Schulley Road and were well known for providing that wonderful place for many people to gather and camp. As a child, I remember asking why that woman was up front waving her arms around when people were singing! She was directing! She thought that was so funny and reminded me of it several times. She had asked me several years ago to have her funeral, so when I received the call today, I was asked to honor her request. I do not have any arrangements yet, but the family thought it would be either Thursday or Saturday depending on family members living far away and needing time to get here. George Cox (her son-in-law) is the Clerk of our Area Meeting. George and Marilyn attended Hinkle several years ago as well. So, let's remember them in prayer as they go through these tough days.
