As many of you know, near the end of September there was a freak storm that left 5 dead in Port Au Prince and destroyed countless tents and temporary structures that have housed thousands of refugees since the January 12th earthquake. This included the 22,000 square foot ministry tent that had been donated to FOMM by City Church in Washington state! After salvaging what we could, the tent was put back but it was only half the size of the original. We are currently trying to get the materials needed and a team to come in and re-fabricate the tent to it’s original size.
Now, just a month later there are reports of tropical storm Tomas’ heading our way! By Monday there is the possibility of a category 2 or 3 storm being off the southern coast of Haiti if the storm takes it’s current path. If the storm tracks any further to the north, Port Au Prince will take a direct hit! Brothers and sisters…we do not need this! Over 100,000 people are still living on the streets, taking shelter in tents, under tarps and in cardboard and plywood shanty towns! There is little sanitation and with a record rainy season we are already seeing Cholera spread like wildfire in the tent cities. Almost 200 people have died from this dread disease in just the past two weeks.

Hurricane Tomas' will be off Haiti's coast by Monday afternoon!
We are asking that you join us in prayer! Pray for this storm to be still! Pray for this storm to turn away from the people of Haiti! Pray also against the Cholera epidemic that is killing children, the elderly and others! Pray for the nation’s upcoming elections…that corruption would be rooted out, exposed and cast aside as the people elect a new government. This has been an extremely difficult year for this nation and it’s people and we are asking all of you to stand with us in speaking “Peace…Be Still!” over all the issues and circumstances that the people of Haiti are facing! It is time to intercede!
And as important as prayer is, how much we need you to stand in the gap with us and for us, there is so much more that you can do! We need to raise the funds to be out from under the tent and in a new building! We need partners to raise the needed funds to build homes for the people displaced by the quake. We need the funds to outfit our medical clinic and keep the medicines and supplies stocked! We need you to partner with us! Please consider a year end gift to help set the stage for FOMM to move forward in 2011. You can find contact info on this website as well as our PayPal link for secure online giving. Please let others know about the work we are doing as we minister to the people of Haiti!
