find a penny pick it up
Someone (Annette)sent me an e-mail the other day. It was about a man who always picked up pennies just to read the inscription IN GOD WE TRUST on the back as a reminder to him of who’s in charge. As I was reading the e-mail my phone rang. The name of the company calling was HALFPENNY TECHNOLOGIES. I almost laughed out loud. But then I began wondering…Have I been putting all of my trust in God? Is my relationship with God consistent? Or, am I available to him only when it’s convenient for me? I was reminded that in order to understand God better I must continue to study his Word. Have you ever read a part of the Bible you’ve read before but you could never understand it and then all of a sudden it makes perfect sense? Breakthroughs like these feel like wisdom and joy and peace all wrapped into one! I don’t want to ever miss a chance to heed Gods call. I frequently tell God that I’m ready to know more about his plan for my life. I believe his silence means that while he’s glad I think I’m ready, He still knows better. I really do feel that God is preparing me for something. I think that is a natural feeling for any Christian to have. It’s like the thirst for Gods love that we so often hear about. 37On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. 38Whoever believes in me, as[a] the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." John 7:37-38 The transcending power of Gods love is so awesome! Sharing God’s love with others is such a beautiful experience and I hope he will let me do much more of that in my lifetime. His mysterious nature only compels me onward. I have every intention of following the path he’s laid before me. As my trust in God and my knowledge of his Word grows I know I can make great strides. I know that miracles happen when we welcome Jesus into our hearts even a just a little bit. Imagine what giving him all of our hearts can accomplish
