FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK

Good morning Friends! I had just a couple of things on my mind that I would like to express this morning and pray that it is taken in the right spirit. First of all, I was so uplifted yesterday seeing our beloved Hinkle full of 118 people in attendance to celebrate the Risen Christ! What a statement that makes to this wonderful Church which still reaches out to people and shows the great love people have for this sacred place.

Secondly, I have been concerned about the use of our Blog. I SO appreciate the fact that Kelly created this space for us to enjoy as a Church Family and a tool for communication from our members/attenders. I think it is important to remember that the use of the Blog was and is intended to be used to post uplifting articles, music, and spiritual helps for those who read it. Being in the loop of many people outside our Church, I know that many people read our blog from our new Indiana Yearly Meeting who is interested in the happenings at Hinkle along with potential people who are observing us and seeing who we are. I would just like to encourage us to continue to post uplifting messages and nothing inflammatory on this site. If anyone has an issue that they are concerned about, we have a vehicle to express those feelings. If you read about our structure, you will find that the Ministry & Oversight is the vehicle to voice your concerns. All matters that carry a concern should always be filtered through this Committee. There is no need to involve the whole congregation or outside people who may be reading our blog if there are concerns of any sort. We DO NOT want there to be problems in anyone's mind and through prayer, counsel, and Scripture, this group is standing ready to help resolve any issues you may have. So, PLEASE use the Blog with integrity and mindful of the many people who are reading it. We would never want to send the wrong message and leave questions in people's mind if there are problems at Hinkle. I know of NO problems at all - just want to remind us all to choose our words carefully knowing whatever is said reflects the whole body. Since Kelly is the moderator and creator of this Blog, it is her responsibility to keep it positive and uplifting. I appreciate that she has made this available to us. None of what I have said is a reflection on any one person, just some convictions I've had after understanding how many people look at us as a Church through this Blog.

Bob you couldn't have said it any better.
Proverbs 15:4
The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

Yes,let's make sure that when we say something, it is careing and not bashing. We are a family, not a battle ground.
