NEW BIBLE VERSION

March 9th could be a landmark for Bible readers. A new version will be released: New American Bible- Revised Edition. From what is currently known, it doesn't appear to be a pretty picture. 50 scholars have spent much time since 1994 developing this new translation. Of course, the Catholics played their part in the translation as well by summoning a committee of Roman Catholic bishops to assist. Now, this is what we have: numerous faiths trying to achieve the same goal, and manipulation of prophecy. Though they claim traditional doctrine has not been hindered, the readers may be mislead very easily. The following is the primary example of what appears to be a new flaw: Isaiah 7:14 reads like this (KJV), ''Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.'' The New American Bible- Revised Edition will say something along these lines, ''Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a young woman will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.'' These scholars have removed the virginity of Mary!!! Yet, Mary Sperry said, ''The bishops and the Bible are not signaling any sort of change in the doctrine of the virgin birth of Jesus. None whatsoever.'' I think this raises some concern....

As I read your post Ty, I couldn't help but think of the words found in Revelations 22:19 which says:

"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from things which are written in this book."

We sure have to be attentive to what's going on in those subtle ways. Thanks for the post!
