“When you lose someone & helping to Dry the Tears”

My name is Dickens, a dog, I’m just a little guy, mostly Maltese.  Recently my steady, comfortable, normal life changed drastically.  One day my mom came home in tears.  People started dropping by the house, bringing food and goodies- and a lot of them were crying.  A lady and man arrived in the middle of the night.  I heard Mom call the lady her daughter.  The next day someone brought a whole bunch of people to the house from something called an airport.  There were shoes and suitcases everywhere.  Mass confusion reigned.  Plus many more tears.  Over the next few days, people kept coming and going.  Then I was taken for a ride, put in a funny-looking carrier; and before I knew it, I was riding in what they call an airplane.  Very, very noisy!!  Afterthe plane ride, Mom and I went to someone’s house where there were some little kids who thought I was great.  It was fun to have someone to play with.  That first night away from home my Mom called me to come to bed with her.  But she was standing way up high at the top of something called stairs.  I had never seen anything like that before and couldn’t figure out how to get to the top.  She kept calling, so finally I started  up those things.  But it wasn’t easy; I kept falling back.  But after awhile, I got the hang of it—and up I went. A couple weeks later it was back in that funny carrier and another plane  ride.  Finally I was back in my own house.  It was good to be home. Funny though, my Dad wasn’t there and he doesn’t come home anymore.  Me and Mom miss him so much.  I still see Mom try and hide those tears from me, but this little Dickens will always try and help dry the tears.

What a sweet spirit that was at Hinkle Creek tonight.

Thank you O My Father, for giving us your Son. And leaving your Spirit til, the work on earth is done.

Tonight was incredible as the family of God got together at our church to get it ready to come home. I happen to come across two people speaking about how they could feel the Lords presence as the were cleaning. WOW!! Again, we left convinced with much faith that Jesus healed hearts and awakened souls who have been “sleeping”… Praying as people go that the name they can’t quit talking about is Jesus!!

God gave us everything we need to know him. To believe. God' intention was never to be invisible for he is seen in all things. How can we not see God when he is all around us in everything we see. His mighty hand is always at work. Every living thing represents God's love. Everything we are is a miracle of God's love.

God created everything around us so that we might see just how real and unfailing he is, not lacking for anything so that we would have no doubt he truly exists. God has made things to be clearly seen and understood.

Shared by a special person:
There is darkness and there is light; Picture yourself in the dark. Darkness represents being lost, we cannot see whats before us or around us, we are blinded, without hope and in fear. Now picture yourself in the sun, in the light. The light represents warmth, peace, hope, a new beginning, a new day.

The mountain; something that is out of reach, big, overpowering. We have and will face many mountains but we can rise above that mountain and God can move those mountains and clear the way for us.

Valleys; deep, long. We all go thru the valleys to stand on the mountain and overcome trials.

Air; which sustains us as God sustains us.

Rain; God pours down his love upon us like rain.

Clouds; everything will pass away.

Rainbows; The many colors of life. Shows the beauty in all things

Thunder; God's mighty hand. His power.

Oceans and waves; Deep and powerful. The ups and downs in life, tides. But God can calm the sea.

The sky; Big, wide, never ending, boundless and everlasting. No limits to God's love for us.

Laughter and joy; Peace like no other. As God's love is for us.

Sleep; To rest in him.

To awake; To come alive, To awake in his presence. A new day.

A heart; To give and recieve love and to love as God loves us.

A mind; to disifer, to figure out, to come to know God's love.

The unconcious mind: To convict and restore.

Ears to hear and eyes to see; To behold All God's Glory.

A tongue; To taste. To know the difference between good and bad.

A mouth: To pray and praise and share the wonders of God.

Hands and arms; To touch and hug. To pray and praise God for all he is doing and to love others as God loves us.

Legs; To go out and share the word of God.

Miracles; Healing and happiness. The wonders of God's love.

His Holy Spirit; The fruits of the Spirit were all given to us.

Flowers and sunsets; Beauty, restoration, renew.

Birds and fish; Proof that God takes care of all things both great and small.

Life; To live for him and be an example to others.

Right and wrong, feelings and love: Who could have possibly created right from wrong? Who created feelings? Who created love? It had to start somewhere. Somewhere way before us.

Romans 1:20 " For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and devine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse"

For those who do not believe, I suggest you take another look. For he is all around us! We are surrounded by God's love in everything we see. "All things work together for the Glory of God!!!

Bible Study Alternative

PRAISE THE LORD!!!! The carpet is almost done!!! They will finish it tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon. It is SO beautiful and warm looking! Can't wait for you all to see it. We have decided that we will still meet as usual at our Bible Study time and have a meal, then rather than Bible Study, we will all pitch-in together and sweep, move furniture, and clear out the basement as best as we can. Many hands working together will accomplish much! Even if you don't normally come to Bible Study and would like to come and help tomorrow evening, it would be greatly appreciated. There is a lot of final cleaning to be done before we can move back. The piano movers have been called and it is scheduled to be moved back to Hinkle next week. So, it looks like this Sunday will be our last Sunday at Cicero. Please pass this word to anyone you know so they won't make a trip to Cicero on the 10th of April. What a great time to come back home - just before Easter!!! We are so blessed as God has seen us through all of this. More is to be done, but it is manageable while we are back home.

Incredibly Wonderful News

Kelsey Stewart, my friend who was diagnosed with brain cancer, had brain surgery several months ago and is now on chemotherapy just had an MRI and it came back CLEAR! Thank you to everyone who has helped pray for Kelsey. He has been on our prayer list for a long time now.  I'd like to keep him on there as long as he is still being treated. I hope that's okay with everyone. Please continue to pray for Kelsey. He said God told him he would live and that he felt God had touched him. And his oldest daughter Haley is engaged to be married. I am so happy about this great news. Wonderful! Thank you God for your faithfulness and your loving assurance. Thank you Hinkle Creek friends for your prayer support! It means so much, more than you can know.
Love,
Kelly
I Am A Soldier In The Army of God

I am a soldier in the army of God. The Lord Jesus Christ is my commanding officer. The Holy Bible is my Code of Conduct. Faith, prayer, and the Word are my weapons of warfare. I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried by adversity and tested by fire.

I am a volunteer in this army and I am enlisted for eternity. I will either retire in this army at the rapture or die in this army; but I will not get out, sell out, be talked out, or pushed out. I am faithful, reliable, capable and dependable. If my God needs me, I am there. If He needs me in the Sunday school, to teach the children, work with the youth, help adults or just sit and learn, He can use me because I am there.

I am a soldier. I am not a baby. I do not need to be pampered, petted, primed up, pumped up, picked up or pepped up. I am a soldier. No one has to call me, remind me, write me, visit me, entice me, or lure me. I am a soldier. I am not a wimp. I am in place, saluting my King, obeying His orders, praising His name, and building His kingdom! No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards, candy or give me handouts. I do not need to be cuddled, cradled, cared for, or catered to. I am committed. I cannot have my feelings hurt bad enough to turn me around. I cannot be discouraged enough to turn me aside. I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit.

When Jesus called me into this army, I had nothing. If I end up with nothing, I will still come out ahead. I will win. My God has and will continue to supply all of my need. I am more than a conqueror. I will always triumph. I can do all things through Christ. The devil cannot defeat me. People cannot disillusion me. Weather cannot weary me. Sickness cannot stop me. Battles cannot beat me. Money cannot buy me. Governments cannot silence me and hell cannot handle me. I am a soldier. Even death cannot destroy me. For when my Commander calls me from this battlefield, He will promote me to Captain and then allow me to rule with Him. I am a soldier in the army, and Im marching, claiming victory. I will not give up. I will not run around. I am a soldier, marching heaven bound.

Who is CCCWM?
Pastor Jack & Winona Terry started this Ministry over fifty years ago.  They have served seven church congregations and also worked as missionaries in Chile, Russia, China, Mexico, Jamaica, Bolivia, and India; during which time many churches, schools and orphanages have been established.

In the past few years Pastor Jack and Winona are seeing the fruit of their labor in Bolivia with the opening of a school in Santa Cruz, Bolivia (now over 175 students) Without the loving prayer and financial support of our dear sponsors however; none of this would be possible.

What makes our organization unique is that the missionaries pay all their own expenses.  All donations (100%) go directly to help people in the mission field of the country you designate.  And with that help, we will continue to build schools, churches and orphanages in these poverty stricken areas of the world as the Lord provides.

Christ Among Us
While in prison, John the Baptist sent messengers to ask Jesus directly if He was the Christ.  Jesus replied to those messengers: "Go and tell John what you see..."  Tell him about all the miracles; the healings; and that the Gospel is preached to the poor.
And they went forth,
and preached every where,
the Lord working with [them],
and confirming the word with signs following
Amen
Mark 16:20
We know this is real because God has blessed us with so many miracles, healings, and souls saved in this labor of love; ministered unto those less fortunate than ourselves.  Jesus promised to be with us in just this way. In the power and faithfulness of His love.  Our desire at CCCWM is to be the hands and feet of His love; taking the gospel of hope and healing to every nation.
As you view our web site today, I pray that God through His Holy Spirit richly bless and inspire you that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  He is LORD of the Nations!
Christ Community Church World Missions networks with other missions-minded churches to reach out to our present-day world.  We encourage one another.  We pray for one another.  And we seek to always remember that the Body of Christ is 'One Church of Many Living Stones.'  (Click here for an address listing and information about this network of churches)

The Power of Patience in Faith

"But if we hope for that which we see not, then do we with patience wait for it"
Romans 8:25

MAMMY & MAMASAN'S MIRACLE IN HAITI

"Mamasan! Don't you think we should take some food out to the workers in Pernier," Marlene asked Winona, early one bright, sunshiny day in Port Au Prince, Haiti. We had gone to Haiti to began the first school and church building construction. Our group consisted of Charlie Collins, Adam Bryan from Nora Christian Fellowship plus Winona and Jack Terry.

So, Winona and Marlene decided on 5 lbs. of chicken, 6 lbs. of rice, some bread and water for the cooler. They felt that this would be enough food for fourteen people. Marlene, also, bought paper plates and cups.

When the food was completed we were all amazed that a crowd of people had gathered to watch the construction. We had a dilemma. We had prepared only enough for 14 people, but to our astonishment there were over 60 people surrounding our little makeshift outdoor kitchen.

We did not know how far the food would stretch since we had prepared for only 14 people. Our hearts were a bit heavy as we saw all those hungry people standing and looking at the food about to be dispersed to the workers plus the missionaries. Marlene and the Haitian cooks began to fill paper plates with rice, chicken, bread & a cup of water. Charlie, Adam, Winona and I were willing to give our portions, but what about all the other children & adults? We prayed a blessing upon the food and all of the people gathered.

We could not believe what happened next. Soon, everyone had a full plate of rice and chicken. That included us! We counted more than 60 people gathered there that day as the workers began to build a school and church for those precious people. Then! Everyone got seconds. It was a time of rejoicing! But, that was not the end of the story.

Winona recounts the rest of the miracles. "After everyone got all they wanted to eat the young boys came to me and said, ?Mamasan, would you like to hear our band?" Winona smiled as the boys collected plastic jugs and some pieces of metal and began to play in a calypso style rhythm music. It was full of energy and joy. When they finished the young girls came running to Winona and eagerly asked, "Don't you want to hear us sing?" In a few minutes the mountainside was echoing with the vibrant sounds of worship and praise. Then, Mamee arrived!

MAMEE, is the 85 year old lady who gave the land for the new school and church. She was the reason we were here. She had prayed for six years that someone would come to her remote hillside in Haiti and open a school and church for her desperately needy neighbors. Now she was ready to celebrate! She grabbed Winona by both hands and began to dance with her up and down the dusty road adjacent to the property. It was a sight to behold! Here were two elderly ladies dancing energetically while young boys were playing their plastic bongo drums. Then, the Police arrived!

The dancing stopped. The music stopped. Everything got very quiet. Haiti is one of the most violent nations on planet earth and the presence of police meant there was serious trouble. There were five cars loaded with armed policemen. They all moved out of their vehicles and glared at our leader, Maxo and at the American missionaries. What are you doing here? The surly commander shouted in a loud voice. What are you white people doing here? He repeated in French. "Come and explain to them, Mamee!" Maxo called out to Mamee. Everyone felt the tension as fifteen armed policemen looked at us as if we were criminals.

Little 85 year old Mamee, weighing less than 90 lbs. came striding up the hillside carrying a document in her hand and waving it at the commander of the police. "I want you to know!" Little Mamee walked in front of each of the policemen waving her document. "I want you to know," she repeated in her high pitch Creole voice. "I want you to know that I prayed six years for someone to come and build us a school and a church and now they are here. Here is the deed that gives them the right to build and you had better get out of here and leave them alone!" There was dead silence as the chief of police read the document. Then, he looked at his squad of policemen and said, "I think we had better leave!"

What joy and celebration followed that crisis! We all breathed a sigh of relief as the work continued. But, Mamee had other plans. She walked briskly down to her little one-room house and returned in a few minutes wearing her only church dress. She came walking up to me, Jack, and pointed that bony little finger at me and said, "We are going to have church right here and, you Pastor Jack, are going to preach!" Wow! I was astonished, but I was not about to deny that little Hero of the faith. I could only answer in the affirmative, OUI! MAMSELLE!

There on that poverty stricken mountainside in Haiti we experienced another miracle that day. It was even greater than the miracle of "Chicken & Rice." As I gave the message followed by the invitation to receive Christ our hearts were blessed beyond measure as almost everyone of those men, women, boys and girls came forward to receive Christ as their Savior.

I will never forget that day. Neither will Charlie Collins, our Haiti Overseer, or Adam Bryan, a young man who helped us start our work in Bolivia. But, most of all, I'm sure that Winona and little Mamee will forever remember the day when God blessed them with those beautiful miracles. I believe that one day these two saints will dance again up there on the streets of glory while heaven will clap its hands in Haitian rhythm.

Saturday Work Day

There will be a lot of cleaning to do on Saturday to prepare for the carpet layers. If anyone has a shop vac or a heavy duty vacuum they could bring that would be most helpful. We will also need long handled dusters to wipe down the walls. hand dusters and rags to wipe all of the dust off of all the wood work, paper towels and windex for the windows will be needed as well.

Thank you!

More info on Nancy Davis

Husband of Murdered US Missionary Vows to Continue Work in Mexico

Violent crime plagues northern Mexico, fueled by drug gangs, car thieves and kidnappers. On January 26, gunmen killed 58-year-old Christian missionary Nancy Davis as she and her husband Sam, both U.S. citizens, tried to run a roadblock on a lonely Mexican highway around 100 kilometers south of the Texas border.

At his home in south Texas, Christian missionary Sam Davis is left with only memories of his wife Nancy. “She was a registered nurse and we built several clinics down in Mexico and she was a very giving person. She was always helping someone,” Davis said.

But violent drug gangs dominate life in northern Mexico, where the Davises worked.

Knowing that kidnap victims are often tortured, the couple had vowed not to be taken alive.

So Davis rammed his truck into the first vehicle in his path when armed men tried to stop them.

“I straightened my truck out so I would hit it with the side of my truck and it was just enough so I was able to get past this other truck that was sitting sideways and I got through there and, as soon as I did, the van that was behind me, those guys opened fire with their rifles on me and that is when a bullet came through the back window, through the headrest and into the head of my wife,” Davis said.

Davis braced for more bullets and kept going. “I just stiffened my side and gripped the steering wheel expecting bullets to come into my side right there, but they were not counting on the high rate of speed I was going at and the bullets struck the truck behind the door and did not hit me and I got through,” he said.

Mexican federal police patrol the area, and Davis came across one.

“I slammed on the brakes, stopped and they said, 'Are they still coming?' and I said, 'Yes.' And they said, 'Then go, go as hard as you can and try to get away! We'll cover your back and try to hold them off.' And so I floored it [accelerated] and went on,” he said.

Davis made it to this border crossing at Pharr, Texas, and got his wife to a hospital. “She was still breathing when we got there, but within 15 or 20 minutes she passed away and [sighs] has left a great big void in my life,” Davis said.

Davis remains committed to his projects in Mexico, despite the loss of his wife.

He says he loves the Mexican people. “I have no anger. I love the people, all of them, even the ones who have done this. I pray for them,” he said.

Davis says crime in Mexico comes from poverty, and many people involved in drug trafficking there seek his help. “They weep and cry and say, 'We wish we could get out of this mess, but, if we do, it will be our life, they will kill us if we try to leave or get out,'” he said.

Nancy Davis is buried close to where she and Sam lived in Texas just north of the border. He says he is determined to carry on the work they started together.

Bible Study Reminder

Hey all. I just wanted to remind those of you who are coming to bible study tomorrow night to make sure to study the Ten Commandments (you can do so either by looking at the handout I gave you or by studying Exodus 20:1-17) so that you can come to our study with some good discussion topics and/or questions. Also, don't forget to try to fill in those maps I gave you (not every country, of course, but at least those that are relevant to our study, i.e. the Levant - the countries bordering the eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea - and most of what is thought of today as the Middle East). I know this is a departure from our usual study, but, as I stated at our last study session, it is very important for us, as Christians, to be familiar with the geography of the Holy Land and the countries that surround it - not only because it will help us in our study, but also because of the role this region plays in the world today.

The Storm

This is a song written by the recent Holiness martyr, Nancy Davis. (The missionary who was shot by a drug cartel)

Verse 1:

When my heart was cleansed and pure,
and my choice was clear and sure;
How my soul His perfect love did fill and warm.
I cried out in happy bliss, "Lord, I want more love like this!"
So, knowing best, in tenderness, He sent the storm.

Verse 2:

Could this trial the answer be?
Lord, I wanted more of Thee.
You are all my hungry heart is longing for.
Then His voice comes sweet and clear, "Is your life Mine Own to stear?
Then trust in Me; your course will be right through the storm."

Verse 3:

Lord, I would thine eagle be, and your Glory oft' to see;
But I need upon Thy strong wings to be borne.
Sometimes it hurts too much to fly,
But I in full surrender cry,
"I'd rather be still more like Thee; I'll take the storm."

Chorus:

Let me soar upon the winds that blow against me;
Lifted high by the very storm that would destroy me.
There the sweetest peace to know, while the billows rage below;
'Til, soaring free, the storm brings me much closer to Thee.
