Old Cars

In the past two months our two cars have broken down seven times all together. We had brake trouble, strut trouble, alternator trouble, twice. Weve had crankshaft woes a couple of times and two other things that I don't know what they are. An oxygen sensor perhaps? Oh, something about a spark plug. It could be that the time has come to put these two old horses down. But for now, we are replacing their broken parts piece by piece. Well, I'm not. Mike has done most of it by himself. It's hard to get where your going without a car. I could probably get to church on a bike when the weather is nice, but everywhere else would be too far and too dangerous and there's no where I want to go that badly. So, if my car breaks down for good. I will stay home and ride my bike to church. And grow my own food because I won't make it to the grocery either. And make my own clothes. Neither of which I know how to do. Not with any level of skill. I suppose what I really will do is try to find a way to buy a new car. But I like to think of riding my bike around and eating radishes in a homemade frock. Sounds so simple and lovely and peaceful. But not realistic in the least. I would probably learn how to play the dulcimer too just to complete the picture.
Anyway, I am looking forward to FFN tonite. Everyone here at work is in a great mood with the sun shining and the slightly less freezing temperatures. Although I hear that snow is in the forcast for Sunday.
Would you believe that I went to the grocery store today and I went to check out and my wallet was not in my purse! Apparantly when I got out of the car it was on my lap and someone found it in the parking lot and  turned it in. I even had $70 cash in there and I never have any money! And the person even left a note on my car window saying they had taken my wallet inside. Thank Goodness! Isn't that so nice!  I felt so fortunate that it turned out that way.
