Is Revelation A Dark Book?

Revelation is not a dark book. It may seem dark to some because it ties in with the past middle and future. It scares most non-christians, and they give bad testimonies to those that do believe.

In fact God does say that those that study the book and read it are blessed.

Some also know the book as the revelation of John. But, it is really the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Also, some think the book is dark, and hard to understand because of its name. However, Revelation is from the Greek meaning "Un-Veling."

So, the next time you come across the book, look into it. You might find something interesting.

Good post Jaxon. Revelations can become confusing for many of us, but the main message I get from that is to always be ready.

Many think they should just ignore it(Revelation). It says to never seal the words of the prophecy. If we obey and understand only that we're capable of, we will be blessed.

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

John 4: 23-24 (NKJV)

Anything apocalyptic seems very dark, and Revelation is full of apocalyptic imagery. One thing we must always remember is that the perfect messages of God are many times confused by the limitations of man. Revelation is an important book, but if we focus on Christ's message in the gospels, we do not have to fear the images found in Revelation. We must prepare our way and be ready.
