Paulette
Just wanted to let you all know that I got Paulette home this afternoon. We have to go in the morning to the Infectious Disease doctor to be trained on administering the antibiotic and to pick up the medication. They gave her today's dosage, so don't have to worry about that tonight. She's having a bit of trouble with her sugar, but all in all she is doing much better. Thank you for your prayers.

Friday update
Thanks for all of your prayers for Paulette. She is slowly improving and can open her eye a little more today. They discovered they were under medicating her for this situation, so they got aggressive again today and were to put in a port into the large vein near the heart so they can draw blood and get the antibiotics working quicker. She is dehydrated, so her veins are flat and they can't draw blood. The doctor came in while I was there today and said had they not caught this any sooner, it could've easily spread to her brain then there would be nothing they could do. We are so thankful that God prompted her to push me to take her!! Had we not gone, it might have been a different turnout. Still not sure when she will come home, but they are hinting at Sunday. Not sure how I'll handle all of that with Church, but she told me to go ahead and she would just wait on me. So, guess I'll be at Church Sunday!!

PAULETTE
Just an update on Paulette. She got up at 5:00 this morning with her eye completely swollen shut, large, red, and in lots of pain. So, we headed down to St. Vincent on 86th Street to the Emergency Room. After several hours of tests and examinations, they discovered that she has Orbital Cellulitis. It is an aggressive serious bacterial infection behind the eye and some in the front. They admitted her and will keep her there for a few days to get this under control. The doctor said they needed to treat it quickly and aggressively or it could cause her to lose her sight in that eye and could possible spread to her brain. They told us we got her there just in time for treatment. We had four different specialists in the room all saying the same thing and telling us how serious this is. When she does get to come home, she will have a port in her arm and have to be on an antibiotic IV for a week after she comes home. She was very nauseated this evening and still in quite a bit of pain. We would appreciate your prayers for her. This was quite a shock to start out our day and had no idea she would end up in the hospital!! I'll keep you updated as I know more.

New
Well!!! I updated the browser and now I am trying to figure out how this works. Can you all figure out how to post on here now? I had to click on the "powered by" icon on the right and then click on the pencil. Does that work for you? On the upper left you will see all of the different viewing options which are pretty cool I guess. The best part is being able to hit the like button below a post and instantly share it on Facebook.

Stacy & Ethyl Wesner
This is a picture that didn't make it in time for the Homecoming Museum wall of Past Pastors. This was a very precious couple and Stacy was the one who mentored me when I began my Ministry in Oklahoma. He and Ethyl made a trip and stayed with us and he counseled me on how to deal with many things I would face in this new career that God had called me to. My heart was really warmed when this picture arrived in the mail and I wanted to share them with you.
BIBLE STUDY FOOD
Paulette is making Taco Soup for the Bible Study meal and I'll bring Iced Tea and make coffee.
CHRISTMAS CAROLING
There will be a planning committee meeting this Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the Church for all of those interested in going Caroling this Christmas Season. Emily Swager is organizing this and would like adults and especially the young people to be involved. Let's all support this effort of Emily as she is passionate about this outreach for our Church. What a wonderful way to share with so many people in our community and give a "singing voice" to our Church to lift the spirits of many.

Dan Dunham
I learned today that one of my Pastor Friends, Dan Dunham died suddenly of a heart attack. I spent much time with Dan on various occassions and even travelled once to Marshall, Illinois to have a prayer session with him when he was struggling in his ministry. I have been devastated today after reading about his untimely death. Dan was a Veteran and proud of his service to our country, was active in politics (especially the Tea Party), and was very compassionate about his Prison Ministry he was active in. His calling and funeral will be this Friday in Mooresville. I'm thinking pretty seriously about attending. I'd just like to ask you all to pray for his dear wife as I know she must be in shock at this time along with the Church he Pastored. I guess it has made me come into reality that none of us never know when it will be our time and how important it is to be ready. I know Dan was and he must be rejoicing in Heaven today! Thank you.

PICTURES
I just love all the pictures that are being posted on the blog. I got to thinking how nice it would be if all who took pictures could pool their resources and come up with a slide show with some special music in the background, like some of the old hymns we sing, Mike singing Where Love Grows, and Jeff singing Amazing Grace. What a wonderful keepsake that would be! I just think that would be an awesome thing to have and to also send out to those who would like one that shared with us during this special time. I'd be happy to make the copies on my computer if that would help. I know there are some of you who very talented and can make a beautiful slide show out of all of these pictures. Maybe it would take two discs, but it would be so worth having. Pray about that one!
