Please Pray
Please pray for my sister, Christy. She is bleeding internally and they don't know why. She was at her cabin in Brazil, Indiana. She went to the hospital there and her Doctor said he wanted her back here. She is on her way back to Noblesville now. They wanted to put her in an Ambulance but her husband is driving her back. She will go to Riverview when they get here. Or to St.Vincents if they can't make it back to Noblesville.
Colossians 3:1-2
3:1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Bob Walters Blog
http://believerbob.blogspot.com/
Bob Walters writes a column for Noblesville Current Magazine. This is his blog that contains all of his articles. I've posted his articles on here before and I was going to post another one but when I started reading through them I couldn't choose just one. So, here you go. If you have time, you may want to read some of his posts. I had e-mailed Bob previously when I had posted one of his articles on our blog just as a courtesy. I told him I liked his column and he encouraged me to e mail Current magazine and tell them that I read and appreciated his contribution to the newspsper. He said he needs all of the support he can get. So, if you feel inclined, after reading some of his stuff you too can send an email to the current thanking them for including Bob's columns in the paper.

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK
Good morning Friends! I had just a couple of things on my mind that I would like to express this morning and pray that it is taken in the right spirit. First of all, I was so uplifted yesterday seeing our beloved Hinkle full of 118 people in attendance to celebrate the Risen Christ! What a statement that makes to this wonderful Church which still reaches out to people and shows the great love people have for this sacred place.
Secondly, I have been concerned about the use of our Blog. I SO appreciate the fact that Kelly created this space for us to enjoy as a Church Family and a tool for communication from our members/attenders. I think it is important to remember that the use of the Blog was and is intended to be used to post uplifting articles, music, and spiritual helps for those who read it. Being in the loop of many people outside our Church, I know that many people read our blog from our new Indiana Yearly Meeting who is interested in the happenings at Hinkle along with potential people who are observing us and seeing who we are. I would just like to encourage us to continue to post uplifting messages and nothing inflammatory on this site. If anyone has an issue that they are concerned about, we have a vehicle to express those feelings. If you read about our structure, you will find that the Ministry & Oversight is the vehicle to voice your concerns. All matters that carry a concern should always be filtered through this Committee. There is no need to involve the whole congregation or outside people who may be reading our blog if there are concerns of any sort. We DO NOT want there to be problems in anyone's mind and through prayer, counsel, and Scripture, this group is standing ready to help resolve any issues you may have. So, PLEASE use the Blog with integrity and mindful of the many people who are reading it. We would never want to send the wrong message and leave questions in people's mind if there are problems at Hinkle. I know of NO problems at all - just want to remind us all to choose our words carefully knowing whatever is said reflects the whole body. Since Kelly is the moderator and creator of this Blog, it is her responsibility to keep it positive and uplifting. I appreciate that she has made this available to us. None of what I have said is a reflection on any one person, just some convictions I've had after understanding how many people look at us as a Church through this Blog.

LOVE
Hinkkle Creek Friends, I love you. I don't only love your beautiful building, but I love your congregation. Though some spiritually dangerous things may be happening, I still love you. For it was from you loving Pastor that I learned of Christ and it was in your very pews that I sat in awe for God. So, all I can say is, "Thank You, I Love You!"
HAPPY EASTER
Happy Easter everyone! May the reality of the Risen Christ be found in your hearts today as we gather together in Church and with our families! May you find hope, peace, and salvation through this Great Event that changed our lives FOREVER! Looking forward to being with all of you today. With great love for my Church Family - Bob

Prophecy of Jesus
Isaiah 53
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

A very good friend of mine recently shared this with everyone on Facebook, and I thought I would share it with all of you! :)

Saturday, May 14 Reminder
Ministry & Oversight is selling tickets for the Women's Conference featuring Heidi McLane. The $10.00 ticket price includes the morning and afternoon Sessions and Lunch. Session I begins at 9:30am. You can purchase tickets from any member of Ministry & Oversight. If you have any questions please call Kelly Haemmerle 317-691-2329.
We've sold quite a few tickets already and have still have some seats available. This is a really fair price for a chance to spend some time with all of the ladies of the church and to hear Heidi's powerful testimony. We would like to do these more often and want to share this opportunity with as many people as we can.

Greatest man in history, named Jesus, had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

EASTER SUNDAY
Please don't forget that we will have NO Sunday School on Easter and the service will begin at 10:00 a.m. rather than 10:30. Also, remember that we have a photographer to take a group picture of us on Easter Sunday in our 175th year at Hinkle! Also, bring the children for a great egg hunt. They will have fun looking for their treats! It should be a great day! Let's all come to this special Sunday as we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ who died for our sins that we may have the opportunity (through salvation) for eternal life!! This Sunday of Worship is the whole reason we come together each week!

Annette
Just wanted to let you all know that Annette VanWinkle made it through her shoulder surgery just great. Dr. Ginther said it went picture perfect and she did so well, she may get to come home tomorrow. She has a nerve block in her shoulder, so she will have no pain for several days. She appreciated everyone's prayers.

If your meeting pays pastors or other staff for mileage or other expenses, it is best for the individual and the meeting to reimburse these expenses after the individual submits a mileage log or receipts. Allowances are wages and are subject to taxation. Amounts paid under a written accountable reimbursement plan, on the other hand, not only increase transparency but they are not wages and are therefore not subject to taxation. If you have questions about this or any other issue related to the tax treatment of pastors, please contact IYM Ministerial Advocate Matthew Hisrich by email at matt@iym.org or by phone at 765-319-3244.
White’s Residential & Family Services wishes to thank those who have already committed to participating in White’s Sunday. However, it’s not too late for your meeting to get involved! We have resources that can be used (giving envelopes, 3-slide power point presentation, brochures). Our staff is also available to come and share with your congregation on a Sunday morning. Please contact us at 260-563-1158, ext. 1346, if there is anything we can do to help you share the message with your congregation.

Good Morning!
Laura Lee Allen tells the following story in Christian Reader: During Sunday school, our pastor, who was teaching the adult class, selected a middle-aged couple to act out the burning bush scene from the Old Testament. The husband was asked to supply the voice for God and his wife would read Moses' lines. All went well until they got to verse 15. The wife, as Moses, mistook her husband's dialogue for her own and read, "Say to the Israelites, 'The Lord, the God of your fathers--.'" The pastor interrupted her. "Wait a minute. You're not God." Without missing a beat, her husband deadpanned, "I've been trying to tell her that for 18 years."
The movie, Rudy, includes Father Cavanaugh’s memorable quote: “Son, in 35 years of religious study, I have only come up with two hard incontrovertible facts: there is a God, and I'm not Him.” Even though we know this intellectually, many involved in church leadership reflexively fall into the trap of mistakenly “reading God’s lines.”
During my life I’ve been privileged to witness first-hand some amazing spiritual movements in Friends churches that brought transformation and restoration to individuals and filled meetinghouses with crowds of worshippers who regularly gathered in anticipation of fresh manna from above. Somehow, in the last few weeks I’ve felt a strong impression that we are on the cusp of a similar fresh movement of God’s Spirit here in Indiana Yearly Meeting. We can’t produce this, only God can. Doug Shoemaker

I just wanted to remind everyone that Easter Sunday will be at a different time. There will be NO Sunday School that day and the service will start at 10:00 a.m. rather than 10:30. This will give families an earlier start on their family gatherings for Easter. PLEASE INVITE someone to attend Hinkle on Easter Sunday! This could be the start of another new burst of attendance for us.

2 Chronicles 7:12-16 (New International Version)
12 the LORD appeared to him at night and said: "I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices. 13 "When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
Our first Sunday back!
What a relief to finally be back where we want to be. It was a major project and it was all so worth it. It has felt that all along that God was with us and guiding us. We did our best to work hard and work together and we did it. Working on the meeting house and restoring the building felt like a calling. I want to say thank you to all of the Trustees for all of their hard work and especially to Denny Griffith for all that he has donated to this project, time and materials. And thank you to everyone who brought food! The lunches were great every Saturday! I will miss them. I just keep thinking about Sunday and how it went. I know Bob and Paulette had to be exhausted, relieved and excited all rolled into one. Thanks to both of them for their leadership through this time. Their experience and patience really helped see us through. God is faithful! Yes he is! How many times can I say how fortunate I feel to be a part of Hinkle? Not enough, I guess. Seeing such a big project through like we have is certainly a wonderful experience for all of us. Working together like we have is truly a testimony to our commitment to the church, to God, and to one another. It shows the appreciation we have for each other and for those that came before and those that will follow. Sunday was wonderful. There is still a lot of work to do up there, but we made it back home and that is where we want to be, where our hearts our. It's a special place. It just is. It means a lot to a lot of people. Homecoming this year is really going to be a great celebration! I just hope I can remember to take pictures!

Urgent Prayer Request!
Most of you know Derrek Foster. His mother is having life threatening issues right now and desperately needs a touch from God. Last I knew, Derrek's mother was hospitalized, and her sugar is 600+. They almost lost her. Please, keep Derrek, his mother, and the rest of the family in your prayers. Derrek is counting on his friends (you) to back his family up in prayer.

Welcome Home!
Dear Friends, Please pass the word that we will be back at Hinkle this coming Sunday, April 10th! After much work (and still more to go), the Sanctuary is ready for us to worship in this coming Sunday! Great appreciation goes out to Kay Hartley for making Cicero available to us during this time of renovation. We are looking so forward to coming home and I sure hope to see all of you there on Sunday! The piano will be moved on Tuesday and tuned on Friday. That is the last thing to move from the Cicero location and we will finally be home! Thank you for all of your patience during this long awaited 7 months! Believe it has been worth the wait! Bob

Thank you God for showing me something so sweet today and touching my heart. It reminded me that all my prayers are so small and that you think and bless us bigger than we can even pray. Thank you for the reminder that have my heart where it needs to be in your hands. You love me and you will love me more than I even know how too.
